As in, you can use opioids regularly and still keep a job in tech, get stuff done on time, pay the bills and not go bankrupt etc.

How do you do it? How long have you been doing it? Do you ever want to quit?

I’m in recovery from opiates. IMO, nobody is doing this. I sincerely believe this isn’t possible. I take a low dose of adderall that actually keeps me “sober” and helps my performance at work. I believe untreated ADHD was one of the factors that brought me to opiates in the first place. If I touched an opiate, I’d be back in rehab in a month

    • Seems harmless in the moment but it's so damaging to your real life sexual performance ability, and then your mind with regards to objectifying attractive people around you, fantasizing about them in some unrealistic porn scenario. Truly a cancerous habit.

Yes, but marijuana. Some might even say a successful addict at that

  • Yes but alcohol.
I have never drank during the workday or when I know I might have to hop on a call but once it's 3PM I start drinking until basically I pass out. Been doing this for around a year now. Of course I wanna quit but I can't stop thinking about it. The moment I wake up I'm like damn can't wait to drink. Been to the hospital because I have some weird pains in my lower stomach. It might be my liver or some shit but I'm too embarrassed to tell my doctor the amount I drink so he just think I'M CONSTIPATED 😅

I could tell you are a woman, too. Do not do the thing we do where you think you are ashamed by the lack of support you got that led you to this moment. Tell your doctor, and deal with the consequences of his truth. Do not avoid it. If you need someone to talk to, I am open to chat about it as well.

  • I used oxy for about 5 years at work, daily. I stopped when I realized I was showing signs of epilepsy whenever I went more than a day without. Slowly tapered off and never touched it again. I don’t have a very addiction prone personality, only physical addiction, I don’t think most people could get away with this
