As the title says, starting a new job up in Redmond soon with MSFT. What's everyone's opinion on the ares to live in?
Some context: Male, single, 24, having things to do is important but I'm not sure if a long commute is worth the sacrifice. I'd also like to have an active dating scene and the ability to hit up relaxed cocktail bars/pubs on the weekends.
I like the idea of living in downtown Seattle(Capitol Hill/Fremont) but everything is so expensive and Ideally I want to keep rent + parking under 2350. I'm also unsure about the consistency of the connector shuttle(Id rather take the bus if living in the city, driving if I live outside of the city).
Bellevue seems like a nice middle ground but from what I've read there's not much to do, also still kinda pricey.
Redmond looks the most boring but also the cheapest with the shortest commute.
Anyone have experience/suggestions/advice? First time moving away from my local area and worried about how much where I choose will impact my life.
