After two weeks notice (Quitting?)

I had a one-on-one with my manager to tell him I would quit after two weeks. Also, I sent an email to my manager and HR person to notify the termination of my employment.

Should I get anything to do? If they don't accept the resignation, what shall I do? Can I quit after two weeks?

Lmao what kind of slavery is this?!

You don't ask to resign, you're just giving them notice that you won't be coming in anymore. If they don't want to accept that they can keep sending you paychecks, but you still don't have to show up.

  • Employment in US is at-will. You can quit tomorrow if you want. 2 weeks is the generally accepted courtesy notice period for smooth transition. There’s no legal requirement for it unless explicitly stated in your employment contract.

So yes, you can quit after 2 weeks.

    • You can quit today if you so desire.

Also, very few employees have actual employment contracts in the USA; they're usually agreements that can be ripped up at any time.

  • You gave your two week notice? If you’re in the US, that’s normal, no bad blood to leave after the two weeks you stated

  • As long as you sent an email to manager/HR stating your last day you are good.

Keep some form of evidence to yourself that you sent that email.

    Why?

This is very rare, never seen or heard myself, but if you really worry they might do something stupid silly, remember that the email you sent is in their system; so they can remove that evidence if they really want to.

Nothing, and I say, nothing disappears, even if you think it was deleted. Especially if it's a public company (but in reality, any company would be using the same systems if they want to grow and become public). Deleting an email is a 1st-grader level spy move, lol
