Buckle up for a nasty ride. Last few days of spike in the stock market was delusional.

We are headed towards a nasty recession that will wipe out a lot of wealth.

Interest rate hike is just a start .

Oil is wayyyy above affordability and inflation will be in double digits too.

    How old are you? Oil does not correlate with recession. The raising of the rates was coming, not a sign of recession. Stocks are a lagging indicator. Basically nothing you said supports the conclusion.

    Can recession happen? Sure. But there are currently no indicators of it.

    Inflation is a given for a while. Those two usually do not coincideโ€ฆ but when they do things are really bad.

      If they don't increase rates, inflation will run rampant. At this point imo slowdown is inevitable. Fed must increase rates. Only thing they can do it is to increase it gradually and let everybody adjust and hope crash is soft and recession is mild. Not much we can do at this point

    OP, you are correct we will be in official recession territory during Q3 which will be the second quarter of GDP downturn. The sales pipeline at my M&A firm is starting to dry up, as it did in 2008.

    I do not know how deep the recession will be, but it will likely be with us for two years.
