Hi all, Wondering if you guys have heard or have any opinion on the career trajectory at Dropbox or Coupa? And the long term opportunity with either of these? I have personally not used Dropbox since college (though I recall increasingly using Google Drive) and have never ever seen Coupa in action. P.S. assume the TC is similar in both opportunities, but upside is based on RSUs

Who are these retards asking for dictatorship in India?
Dropbox
Coupa is a business spend management software. They compete with SAP Ariba and Oracle in enterprise software space. I implemented coupa in our company and they are doing well. The stock has also done well.Hope this helps.
Do you have any idea about how the company is perceived by users? Or do you know of any internal folks there, who have seen life from the inside - with regards to WLB?
I'm worked about drop box over the next few years. I don't see what they have going for them. I used to use them but now use ms skydrive/Google drive for no particular reason.
Why is this a question, isn’t Dropbox the obvious choice here ? I have seen people leaving FB Google offers for Dropbox. Great WLB and TC. Future not sure, but its not going anywhere for years to come.
I dont know what DBX has going for it? Feels like everyone now bundles cloud storage (Microsoft with OFFICE 365, Google Drive, iCloud). Seems like way too much competitive threat for long term career growth.
They still have 600 Million customers and increasing every quarter. DBX is also rated Strong Buy by most analysts for upcoming 3 years.
Dropbox lost their michelin star food perk, AVOID OP
We never had Michelin star food.
That's not what I was told. HQ has best rated food for a tech company because of a Michelin Star chef.
I am not sure about the WLB. It's a growing company in enterprise software space.
Dropbox career growth is almost impossible. Whatever level you come in at (unless it’s IC1) you’ll likely never move up.
I actually talked with couple of people on Blind who moved from IC3 to IC4 in two years (obviously it was not easy) I confirmed this because they showed me their pay structure on workday. I guess it heavily depends on individual performance and scope to show those qualities for promotion. But I heard from them that IC3 to IC4 easily takes 3~4 years because of frequent reorgs n all.
Hopefully its not as difficult as moving from SDE-3 to Principal in Amazon.
From a recruiting perspective, I would never search for engineers from Coupa... but dropbox at least has quality engineers
Any particular reason for this?
What's coupa? Dropbox isn't the best place to work but I think it's pretty good. You should consider if you want to work remote or office too, dropbox is all remote now.
What do you dislike about dropbox
Management turnover and stock price mostly.
