Is this a good description for resume?

Oct 21, 2021 16 Comments

First job out of college. Been at this company 4 months. Haven’t really done anything productive yet but got an email from Amazon about applying for a position so figured I’d update my resume and apply.

Currently we are moving a system to the cloud but the project will take an entire year. I haven’t really contributed much. Any way to make this sound exciting on resume?

“- contribute to modernization of system”
“-migration of services to the cloud to reduce downtime and increase scalability”
“- refactoring to improve maintainability”

    • My company is all about teamwork unfortunately. I rarely get to just do something and claim ownership.

We are converting to azure functions but i want to avoid putting specific technologies like azure on their since I hate Microsoft

I assume azure functions are serverless?
      You can write that instead

Most companies are team oriented, but Im saying that the resume is still a personal doc

I also don't like MSFT lulz, but you might have to mention it to avoid sounding like a thesaurus if ya know what I mean

  • You are new grad; 4 months of work ex is nothing. They will care more about your coding and algo skills.

  • So you want to shoot yourself in the foot by limiting yourself on technologies to work with right out of college?
