Hey everyone. So I got the linkedin offer and would be resigning from Amazon soon. Had a couple of questions
1. For those who've resigned from Amazon can you lmk how long the entire process took? I have a joining date of Jan 3rd from linkedin and don't want to waste unemployment days however I think around Christmas the manager would be on holiday.
For those switching around now what time are you resigning? Is it better to push the joining date a bit more?
2. I also have to do a 6 month stem opt reporting to my university. Can anyone who's switched companies before let me know how you handled this process?
3. Is it fine to leave a bit of gap between leaving one company and starting at the next. Keeping in mind we have to update the university?
4. Is there a checklist I should keep in mind? 401k and stocks etc and how to properly clean up everything before I leave?
Thanks
Thanks!
Tc : waiting for offer letter

Notify HR and direct manager of your intent to resign 2 weeks prior to last day by email (cc your personal email). If direct manager is OOTO, include skip level on 'to:' line. Vacation days don't count towards your 2 weeks so notify 2 weeks before you actually plan to stop working.
If you notify today, can work through Dec 21 and just take PTO/vaca after that until it runs out. Don't worry about a tiny gap through Jan 3. If you have enough that would keep you on the books into January, you'll keep Amazon benefits active for the month of January too.
Make sure you have your Morgan Stanley / Fidelity info to access your accounts outside work network.
Amazon will mail you everything you need (including the bill to pay back prorated portion of your relo lol). They'll even mail a box for shipping back your laptop and badge.
