I had recently been laid off due to budget issues and I got an offer from Collins aerospace as an Embedded SWE. I'm grateful. But the tech they are using at the moment is really outdated. ADA language, I don't know if anyone uses this. I have big aspirations to join FAANG someday. Being a non-immigrant and in the aerospace domain, I don't know very many companies sponsoring VISA. I had great fun developing drivers in my masters, wish I could stay in that domain. How should I go about my future ?
Applied for embedded SWE.What questions were asked in interview? They say c is the main launch age I have to prepare on and where can I start preparing from ?
I was an ADA developer on embedded systems too. I did side projects that were more relevant that then led to FANG.
How did you choose your side projects ? Online courses ?
Mobile app dev on stuff I was interested in. Mobile is basically an embedded target with HW sensors. So seemed like a logical fit. Just learned by going through online tuts and docs.
