9 years in business consulting, negotiations, and gov affairs. Thinking ahead as to how I can better define my skills. Interested in pursuing some part-time tech skills training. What is the best path? Learn cybersecurity from SecureSet? Data science or software dev from General Assembly? What skills are most in demand and what programs are well-respected?

Best path for what? TC? Learning? Advancing your current career? Like in any other field, the best path depends on your goals.

Definitely developing a more technical skill set. I have worked with cyber and tech(Slack, Optiv, Ibotta, Salesforce, Webroot, Gusto, Checkr) companies in Denver market. Like the creativity and diverse applications these companies can have for enterprises. My current TC is $174k, but that’s topping out. I am interested in cybersecurity seeing as companies big and small need a proactive and reactive strategy for long-term success. Coming from a business background, I’m trying to figure out what skills development is both the most valuable to my long term growth, helpful to getting into tech, and valued by companies. Thank you!

How much of a TC do you think cybersecurity will give you? Have you researched?
