Just got an offer from Bloomberg for a new grad position. This is my first offer from a pretty big tech firm, I’m excited about it and extremely grateful. My goal was to get to a top tech company in your opinion does Bloomberg fit that description ? TC: 195K
Is the 195k all in cash? Base plus bonus? Etc. Thanks.
Bloomberg is throwing almost 200k at new grads these days?!
must be after negotiation I know several people who got offers with Bloomberg, all didnt have sign-on unless negotiated. 150 base for new grad is high, 140 is standard
Yes this is after negotiation
It is. Few years here and your experience will open doors for every single company out there. Plus it’s a good social status in nyc and east coast.
You mean your date will be impressed because you work at Bloomberg? 🤔
Your date will be real impressed if you show up under “RICH” in the BBG terminal.
I think it’s good. Used to work at fb and a lot of talented ex Bloomberg there
Good reputation IMO
Definitely worth it! It will open tons of opportunities. They work in C, C++ and performance is very critical for them. Don't be delusion by FANG name. If you perform better then your bonus will be high, it's not fixed. Also, it open opportunities in financial company such citadel, two sigma etc.
You seem delusional. Compensation changes at Bloomberg is usually fixed. Bbg is a big waste. Go anywhere else.
It is very relaxed environment with all the friendly people. You will at least feel cared by Papa Bloomberg :).
Hello, Any idea how is the tech stack in trade processing team?
Bloomberg is not a tech firm it is a financial firm. Also depends on the dept. your going in and whether your a woman.
still boys club mentality especially in tech
IMO it is a good starting point. The tech is outdated but is built based on correct principals. There are a lot of politics going on and there is zero transparency. However, if you are a junior and you plan to find something better within the next 1-2 years you should not really care about those two things.
More prestigious than Staples, and a good place to springboard early career
Fair point😂
I dunno about that. Staples, we should chat... 🤔
