Chronicles of the intern, I completely run our Software department

I’m just memeing at this point, not on Blind, but at the company.

Company was pretty dysfunctional from the get go, “when in doubt, hire a PM” was the motto, right after “if it can be outsourced, do it”

The problem with having many PMs and no engineers (I literally mean no engineers, not one software engineer in the entire company) , is that they have no idea what they are doing.

Long story short

Execs fired entire cloud architect team (closest thing we had to SWE) and kept the interns.

So they look to the interns (who, rightfully so, have no idea what’s going on)

Someone needed to manage the AWS servers we setup for supplier to host code

Head PM calls 5 people to the meeting

1) Buddy PM, this fool is an absolute train wreck, has no idea about any of the tech

2) IT guy, yes , the IT guy. Who never touched AWS in his life. But he would know because “they’re both servers” , he’s in his late 60s

3) A guy who used SAP before. “SAP is pretty up there with Amazon, should be the same “

4) finance intern cause he used python that one time

5) yours truly.

Head PM asks IT guy and SAP guy to train the interns about AWS management and deployment

When I tell you I muted the call, and laughed my ass off

Not because I think it’s hard, but how much damage a clue less mfer can do.

I manage AWS, i manage deployment, and internal APIs, I’m having fun, exposed to a bunch of tech, but it’s an absolute joke y’all

It’s an absolute shit show guys.
