    • @others questioning why he didn't just leave, think of it as an abusive relationship. You are in such a messed up state that you don't realize what your options are.

    • ^ this!

I can't believe people who blame the victims. If you never had an abusive relationship, lucky you and go educate yourself.

      Ridiculous.

You people who don't understand why he can't just quit, it's not that simple. Have you ever heard a rape survivor speak out? Often they will say they felt powerless to fight back, even if they could have. Once we are past a point of no return we often just yield. If you have never experienced it then please just keep your mouth shut and be thankful. Uber pushed this guy past his breaking point.

  • I am shocked that people from uber can so easily dismiss this as problems in the family or long hours.... wow just wow. It's like you have lost all humility. A father and husband has just been lost. How could you be so judgemental. No wonder why it's such a sh ...ty place to work. Merely going by the two responses from uber guys, I am sure no one wants to be there

"Microsoft employees don't work." - are you fucking kidding me? Just because most people aren't stressed due to how the company in general operates doesn't mean people at the company don't work. I've seen people put tremendous amount of hard work at Microsoft. It's just not a daily thing for most people and it's a good thing IMHO.

@Hubspot sure. This is the very first comment to this article from an uber employee. Though it's been deleted you can still see comments to that comment. "Dunno how much truth in this but... I have a family and kids. Surely losing job is a reasonable fear. However, what leads to outcomes like that is not a job, its the relationship within the family. We live and spend our time in very high stress environments and our homes and families are the things that let us take a break from them. If there is no break then souls are getting broken."

  • Uber is mostly filled with people who missed out on Facebook and Twitter IPOs and wanted to cash out this time. I personally know a couple of brutal folks. Must suck to work there. I love money too but not to that extent.
