Offer 1 : Product based company OTT platform VIU /Vuclip The data pipelines are already build and setup on GCP. The work will be to write queries and update existing data pipelines to fetch data requested by the visualisation team (this helps me to know about the architecture and pipelines eventually I can take ownership but it's already built). Will also have to build visualisation dashboards on Tableau. The only possibility of creating pipelines from scratch is after 6 months which have a pretty good chance that will be done by Senior Data Engineer. Very less amount of work will be there but seems mostly support and some automation. WLB seems awesome here. Pune, India TC 15 lakhs Offer 2 : Service based company Quantiphi Work will be on GCP for mostly batch processing data. Chance to getting to build data pipelines in GCP. Can be asked to build visualisation dashboards on Tableau. Domain will be a healthcare. Alot of work is there. Mostly engineers spend 10 hours working. WLB will definitely take a hit. Mumbai, India TC 17 lakhs Please suggest me an offer which will help me in career growth and help me in my next switch. Personally I feel chance for building data pipelines at Quantiphi is higher hence the development work would be worth it. YOE : 1.8 years Current TC : 6.7 lakhs #tech #data #dataengineer #gcp

Go to the OTT company. There are 3 that come to mind: Discovery, Zee5, Hotatar based on your location. All 3 have good scale that will allow your pipelines to have a meaning. 2 years later, you can expect to have ramped up a lot more and be a senior data engineer. I would suggest to negotiate on the offer letter and see if they can match your numbers. Most companies are ok matching competitive offers (as long as it is in budget) as they know you won't negotiate on top of it.
They won't match. I've already talked to them. The main issue I have is I won't get to build anything new. It's more like support. And in service based I'll surely get to build something.
I've worked as an EM. Pretty sure any new development on anything crucial will not be assigned to a contractor from a service company. Only case when that happens is where scale is absent/ customer is a digital illiterate. But you will be better person to take the call
