Iโm a software engineer with around 3 years of experience and personally interviewed with amazon for almost 2-3 times and got rejected even though i did well most of the times , On the other hand there are few other friends of mine who absolutely know nothing about data structures or algorithms are getting a 30 mins interview for new grad positions at amazon , Iโm not sure what amazonโs thought process is about hiring scrap like this and rejecting people who gave their best and sat on the interviews for almost 5 hours on the final day. I feel unfair , i do know about the PIP culture at Amazon but guess what none of them got PIPed and few of them are now SDE 2โs and still dont know basics , its confusing , what do you think about this ? Is it not unfair?#engineering #amazonnewgrad #amazon

Full-time interviews are very unfair especially for SDE1 roles since the bar is much higher for the same role as the new grad who did the 30min or even multiple 45 min interviews.
My advice is not to interview at amazon unless it's at least L5 because then it's at least worth the effort.
