>Or I might be joking
Such an underrated comment. Best thing I read on blind today.
Booze Allen you got p0wned.
Otherwise it makes no difference. If a recruiter is really swayed by you having the premium banner, they probably shouldn’t be in that field. I’d say focus on making a good profile, add any courses you’ve taken & keep it up to date. Don’t be a troll, recruiters can and will take a look at your comments and activities on LinkedIn. And post links to some interesting, relevant articles with a short comment. Nothing controversial. That will do wonders for your network IMO.
1. Professional profile picture.
2. Put a background picture for the header, representing your brand by preference.
3. Add few additional keywords after your job title.
4. Complete a FULL summary. Use all the length available and put an overview of what you do but also skills, achievement and what you like. LinkedIn use the keyword in their search engine when recruiters are looking for someone.
5. Put medias/photos/videos of your career at the top featured so people know who you are.
6. Complete all your experience with full description with responsibilities and achievements.
7. Add 50 skills not less.
8. Ask to get 50 recommendations.
9. Add your volunteer experience, it’s mandatory to get a good profile.
10. Put your work email, twitter handle and more at the end.
11. Connect with 500 people of your field as a minimum. Ideally, 5 per day.
12. Ensure your skillset match the job description and your experience match the job requirements.
13. Invest in Premium to appear at the top of LinkedIn searches.
The last question is not important for me, I have never experienced this situation with coworkers and do not really pay attention considering the success of the LinkedIn profile.
