I have been experiencing very bad service for dysfunctioning solar panels at my home. I had initially called Tesla Energy troubleshooting helpline when I saw my system was producing no power. On the initial call, they asked me to perform some troubleshooting steps after which I could still see a noticeable "hardware 0x87 error" on my inverter but the lady persisted that before they could take any further actions, I need to wait for 24 hours. I did wait for the 24 hours and the issue obviously didnt go away, after which I called and the customer service agent said that I needed to wash my panels even when I said that the inverter was reporting a hardware error. She then very reluctantly scheduled for someone to look at our system and the appointment for that was about 20 days in advance. The serviceman appeared today and said the same thing which was apparent all along that the inverter had a hardware failure and we will need to wait for new hardware to be shipped to the warehouse and eventually be scheduled for maintenance. In effect, I have lost production from my system for which I am paying 175$ monthly for close to a month.

If the hardware fault was so apparent right from the start then this should have been dealt with in a better manner. Is there a way my request can be expedited? We are stuck because of the lease takeover when we purchased the house otherwise I would have to think about buying/leasing anything from Tesla given the terrible experience we've had.

Anyone experience something similar? Is there a way to avoid paying money here?

Does your contract have a performance guarantee or ability to abate payment if production is diminished ?

That’s Tesla solar vs paying up front and owning your own panels. Doesn’t Tesla own your panels and take from the surplus you also generate? It’s cheaper up front but not a good long-term investment. I guess it’s like leasing vs own.
