My virtual onsite interview with AWS consists of 4 sessions, and one of them is a non-coding system design interview with the hiring manager.

What could I expect from this interview? I'm doing a lot of research but most blinders say sys design questions are not asked if the interviewee is a new grad. :(

Anyone who can let me know more about this? Thanks!

It's not always classic System Design questions (e.g. design Instagram/Twitter). For grads they typically ask more OO design questions (e.g. design a chess game, design tic-tac-toe). It really depends on the interviewer.

If it is pure System Design, make sure you explain to the interviewer early you are a grad and don't have much systems experience. Some interviews are normal and completely understand that.

And there's a set of douchebags that expect SDE1s to have 4 years of experience building large scale systems. If you get unlucky, just gotta do what you can!

Maybe clarify with your recruiter why this is so? If not, there are many resources that will help you get started with system design and I wouldn't yours to go in very very deep
