I am currently preparing Google Data Scientist interview. From the job minimum requirements, it is written:

1) Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, pandas) and database languages (e.g., SQL)

2) Experience with statistical data analysis such as multivariate analysis, stochastic models, sampling methods.

It seems like it emphasizes statistics part a lot. Is there any suggestion for presentation of Stats?

In addition, is LC easy enough/needed for Python and SQL preparation?

It didn’t mention any single word regarding ML. Does it mean I can put less effort on this part?

Thanks a lot!!!

I’d put less emphasis on ML and more emphasis on really understanding basic stats. The interview to me felt like it covered the material in a Stats 1 class, but it did so at a deep level. Things like linear regression, multiple linear regression, hypothesis testing (difference in means, medians, etc), when to use mean instead of median and vice versa.. the formulas for variance, standard error, standard deviation, and how to calculate them from data. If they gave you any interview prep material, really understand that because I was asked some of those question verbatim.
