Folks, Landed an interview at Goldman Sachs for PWM (private wealth management) technology. Yoe: 2.5 yrs Current profile: Software Developer Have no clue about this department called PWM technology at GS. Please help!!
Also GS acquired a boutique WM firm couple of weeks back. So may involve lot of integration work.
Run away as far as you can. Has the most obsolete tech stack. It's the reason why secdiv is unable to upgrade it's tech stack. The people there seem to have one of the lowest bars in terms of understanding tech. Has people with no technology background or inclination working as TPM.
They (the business) help manage wealth for HNW clients. The engineering team does varied things from front end to back end. That's one of the business which has senior leaderships attention. And making money.
Thanks bro for that insight! Coming from a software developer background and GS being a financial firm, any expert views on job safety, growth opportunities, work culture?
I am not from the traditional software engineering background. I am a strategist (stats, DS and analytics BG). Work culture in general at GS in intense. WLB is not that great at GS. Regarding safety, no job is safe. Just Dont be at the bottom quartile.
