I am dreaming of getting out of Aerospace. It is comfortable but boring. I have 15 YOE, 8 in mechanical engineering, and 7 in software dev/ product management.

What industries are a good next step?

Started in aerospace working on planes for delta, got my MBA and went to consulting (mostly with NASA). Then flipped to Fintech type stuff at Capital One for a few years. Just started at Google a few weeks ago.

Lots of paths to Tech; mine took me through finance.

I'm enjoying life at a tech company after years in traditional aerospace

That's awesome that Pratt has a department that does that. I have been in Aerospace/Aviation for nearly 10 years and I'm also ready to leave for something closer to tech. It's a tough transition to convince recruiters. Mind if I DM you as well ugotmail?

Vendors who sell to aerospace might be an interesting next step. Especially if you choose one who isnโ€™t exclusively aerospace. Thinking of things like Atlassian, GitLab as examples.
