People on blind often complain about WLB problems in companies. Just want to discuss a way to resolve WLB problem using Agile approaches. Let’s say you need to work 60h per week or work over the weekends. You can bring this up in sprint retrospective and say “we needed to work over the weekend this sprint, and it’s because we didn’t do well in estimating stories. We should ...” If your team then do better at estimating, isn’t problem solved? My point is that you can leverage the Agile framework to help your WLB problem. What do you think?
Op you might be a genius 🤯
You can not solve it by using agile. Shallow Scrum process is often the reason why you end up working in the weekend , at the last minute you find no body thought about the whole thing and truly integrated things as no one owns connecting the dot.
This, scrum is often scrumbug which is chaos
What about retrospective? By doing so next time the team will take the integration complexity into account and estimate and plan more accurately.
Agile is not the end of the world it is an over marketed term
This is like saying “why not just build a better solution using machine learning guys” Like ya, ok.
No let’s build it using blockchain!
Agile probably created the problem, son.
Normally, what happens is, we have release planning ( in which we estimate the end dates for an project and estimate the tasks ), then in case if there is a sprint spill over due to extra efforts required or something else, the manager doesn't understand anything, and he keeps on saying, this is the end date, we need to deliver. That's it. Because of it, the developers get under pressure and all the bs starts.
The problem is generally the business/management overcommitting to something and ignoring the engineering staff. This is how death march/spiral starts.
OP, you took the meaning on agile terribly wrong. You got to unlearn a lot. 🤦♂️
Or you can just stop being a cucc and not work over the weekend
