I know there is a lot of stuff out there for free, even some torrents, but I’m getting so distracted and losing motivation, I even started to get help with a psychiatrist because I think I have ADHD… and to be honest I’m not exactly sure what should I study, I like games but I heard is a horrible industry, underpaid and you work a lot. I’m also not sure if I should work with web dev, at least not creating websites, I know a little bit of css, php and html but I’m not good with design. I like troubleshooting stuff, for example I have 2 motorcycles that I’m building turbo, wiring a standalone ECU and stuff. I was hoping that codecamy (code foundations) would help me find my path and the certificates of completion would help me get a job ( I know I need to work on projects and build my resume to help me with job applications) Thank you for taking your time to help me 😁
Also curious about this - I'm in sales and not looking to switch to engineering, but I feel like having some basic coding knowledge might be helpful
I do front end and learned a lot through udemy courses, which are $10-12 per course with a discount code. Find what you are interested in, and take courses from there. After you have a foundation, focus on project based learning.
But how did you decide what you wanted to do? I’m not sure if I should learn coding for games, or front end… I tried just to learn the language but I get distracted easily, is easier for me to learn while working on a project, this is how I learned Maya, I’m visual, I need to see things happening so I don’t get distracted
Anything active is better than my previous career where I wasn’t doing anything tangible. Front end is good because you can see exactly what you build on the browser, as opposed to backend where everything is in the terminal. If you have a project goal in mind, you’ll keep focused because it is enjoyable.
I used Udacity to learn how to code.
OP is learning to code, not interviewing for FAANG
You are right. My bad. Bad answer.
