Right now I'm sweating bullets because I don't know if I should be buying the dip or getting ready to embrace the pandemic economy 2.0. Only real option investment I have now is an AutoZone position that I don't plan to sell, but expect it to go lower tomorrow. With the market closing early tomorrow I envision it being a sell off marathon, but if the news isn't too bad over the weekend tomorrow might be a good opportunity to buy. Personally I'm going to try to catch the knife by buying some of the dip and see what happens. Good luck to me and everyone else.
Not puts nor calls. Covid is old news. Market is used to it. This is not even a piece of news, of course there are lots of variants that may impact vaccine efficacy and transmissibility already. Old news. Tell us something we donāt know
Buying puts hurts my brain and I always feel weird WANTING the market to crash. The best way to play it from my experience is to wait to buy calls after a huge dip.
I don't like buying PUTs either but some things make sense and go hand in hand. e.g. travel and outdoor company PUTs helped my portfolio recover last year. Only think I'd think of buying PUTs over is maybe European Indexes just because they're taking lockdowns more seriously.
Fair enough. Iām going to wait it out and see. I often find that ābad newsā.. especially during Donaldās administration always happened during off trading hours where you canāt buy or sell options and it was often too late to pick up puts cause IV spiked to the roof already. So it was much easier to wait and buy call : D
VTSAX and chill.
