Too much reliance on main frame and how to deal with it

My department is bleeding money because of mainframe, are there successful instances where these systems have been replaced?

    Please tell me it's running COBOL? It blows my mind companies don't spend little money to get into a better technology stack. Simply going to sql server woukd save so much money on maintenance and allow for better hires.

    Try using mainframe off loading data integration vendors who will migrate the data to Amazon red shift or azure SQL data warehouse or google big query. If you search the Gartner data integration magic quadrant, I’m sure you will find a lot of these ETL vendors.
