100 million data breaches? Are you serious? First it was Equifax, then Capital One...Who's next? https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-07-29/capital-one-data-systems-breached-by-seattle-woman-u-s-says
Wow. I wonder how this could've happened 🤔 http://desudesudesu.io/
You forgot the part where they outsource critical functionality to India so they can save $100k+ on developers
Hehehe, new grads and offshore teams.
More interesting is the girl who did it..and how something so small as misconfiguration allowed an amateur hacker to pull it off
So what I don’t get is the first hop through the WAF - it would mean both the WAF was left open and they guessed the right SSH password which is a little incredible
Really makes you wonder if China had access to this a while ago
Now everyone will know I lied on my reported income.
We hired too many new grads with big ego.
You need tech leads to crush their egos. Yes. Crush them. I love my job.
Data breach happens and it will happen more and more since everything is on cloud or internet. Be wary, be ready to face it and fix it.
That explains why yesterday night I got notified that my username was recovered. The idiots displays it directly after you enter a SSN and B-day instead of emailing it. Started changing account logins, emails, and froze my credit.
The affidavit says the only ssns that were leaked were those who put it down as their EIN for business cards.
lol u work at Deloitte and ur calling them idiots
Outsource everything like Boeing then shit hits the fan 🤣😭😭🤣🤣😂🤣
Michael Johnson took over as CISO and states “Our job isn’t security, it’s to enable the business.” They allowed security licenses to lapse after they blew the budget by over hiring for ISO consultant roles (basically exception grantors). The security dept has been hemorrhaging talent to the point internal audit opened a risk against them. I left a while ago saying I didn’t want to be around when they ended up on the news.
I heard the cybersecurity department has 50% turnover
Capital One had too much on their balance sheet like Facebook and needed a fine to balance things out.
