principal engineer in what field?
Software, at roche molecular
They pay well. I don’t know exact numbers. But heard generally very competitive. I know a senior engineer gets paid about 190 TC . Principal I believe is one level above.
I'd hazard a guess at 230 TC. Remember that there's no stock comp, so salary, bonus, and 401k are it. SW eng is classified differently than the other engineers, so they do try to benchmark to FANG
Are you sure of this figure? And do you guys have espp?
No ESPP. Stock grants are reserved for only some senior directors. I'm not a SW engineer, so it's a guess.
Yes about 230-250k this includes the annual bonus
Thats funny, seems Roche is low balling me for a Principal SWE. First recruiter says 175 - 190k, 2nd guy says 160 to 175k with 10% - 15% of salary in RSU, and a 4% + 10% 401k contribution. Is that weird or what?
Did they mention the bonus?
I just talked to a recruiter and he said a principal eng at santa clara makes 175k to 200k. I would doubt 230k.
Anyone else have insight on this q?
I’d say max 230k for principal and above for the next higher title
245K avg
Thanks, is this toe?
