It's painfully obvious if you're not cut out for an SA role. If you like what you do you'll never be close to PIP by default.
Once you pass you'll be put in front of your customers - solo, or with mentor, shadow, part of event,etc. There will be further 3-6 month training where you'll learn more advanced stuff.
No nasty surprises, pretty easy to follow. The difficult part is that there so much to learn.
Your human side and social skills are the most important. Everything else can be taught and learned.
It's difficult to learn how to be a good person at 25. Or 35. Or whenever. SA org doesn't discriminate by age from what I've seen.
