Thank you very much everyone for sharing thoughts.
Appreciate it very much.
- UPDATE -
Position: SWE
Location: SF Bay Area
YOE: 7~9 years (doesn't include PhD)
Education: EECS PhD from Top 10 US
I am not sure I can get competing offers on time.
Now, what should be my counter offer?
How much can HC extend the compensation package without competing offers?
I think YOE + education decides what level you are interviewing.
But once level is decided, will this also affect compensation package?
- ORIG POST -
Can you help to evaluate this offer?
Base: around $160K
Bonus: around $25K
Equity: around $280K for 4 years
TC: around $260K
YOE: 7~9 years
Education: PhD
Please understand that I put rough numbers.
Thank you very much for the feedback in advance!

Offer numbers sound average for L4.
PHD+7 skews that a bit rightward, with few L4, most L5 and few L6. You’d still need some in demand specialty to get L6.
In my neck of the woods (HWPA) I haven’t seen level inflation since 4 years ago (still see plenty of good candidates get downleveled ) but maybe it exists in other PAs.
