I am about to give my recruiter my ask for comp and I am wondering what to start with.
- I have no competing offers because I just want to work at Google (don't judge..). Obviously this leaves me with just my winning personality as leverage.
- My current TC is way lower because I am coming out of academia.
- The interview went very well and I had multiple teams that wanted me.
- Not the bay, but a relatively high cost geography (though I am mostly remote).
I am thinking 225k base + 900k GSU + 20%. This would be 570k first year (GSU are front-loaded at 33% for the first two years). This seems similar to some things on blind, but a good bit higher than what I see on levels. Too high? Doesn't hurt to ask?
