Hi,

Spent 2 years at Citadel and the previous 8 in tech (SF) and I’m ready to go back to a more chill company.

What would you recommend?

Things I’m looking for:

- Very good WLB: 40h a week max, with no emails at night or weekend, honored vacations, and low pressure
- Reasonable TC for a person with 10yoe at E5 level (mayyyybe 6)
- Interesting work, but not overly competitive environment, I’d like the company and team to be very friendly, forgiving and putting a lot of emphasis on education
- Ideally no bs interview process, it’s been a while since I leetcoded
- I am fine in relocating to the Bay Area, after COVID ends. In the Midwest currently but lived in the Bay for many years, so I know what I’m getting into

Basically I have enough savings that I can half “coast” and let my portfolio grow while my job sustains my living expenses and gives me some good activity and routine to do. Probably looking to retire early 40s and travel the world. No kids and planning to stay that way.

I understand this might be too much to ask, but thanks!

Current TC: Doesn’t matter!
Current NW: $3M
Current yoe: 10 (34yo)

Sometimes Google does Leet easy too.. I’ve gotten offers in 2017 and 2019. 2017 was leet medium and hard, 2019 was two leet easies

Microsoft is another good bet. Pretty straightforward interviews

  • Highly recommend looking at Square and Atlassian for your criteria

  • I’ve heard that Stripe doesn’t do Leetcode style interviews. Looks like a pretty cool place to me. Good cash and promising equity when they go public in the near future.

    Of course tc matters.

I'm going to guess you make 700-900k in Citadel but are willing to drop to 400-500k for a chilling place but not all the way down to 300k for a work 10 hours a week place.

The no BS interview is the primary hang up here, you won't get the decent wlb + middle range comp without it.
