When comparing public school districts and private schools in the South Bay, it's so hard to form an educated opinion from just reading online. I and the friends in my circle aren't quite yet at child-raising age, so I don't have an opportunity to hear any of this from my friends. Where can I get honest, recent opinions from parents in the districts? I'd love to hear things like "the homework load is low in elementary school", "this school has a lot of funding for makers labs for STEM learning", "this school has high test scores but students are not learning an advanced curriculum", etc. #schools
If you want your child to have the best education through middle school in the Bay Area, start looking at private options. Public schools for elementary and middle in the Bay Area are teaching and offering the bare minimum in everything. For high schools, there are good public options.
woah, is this true?
It all depends on your expectations. We found to be true for our kids. Public schools here are not known for their academic excellence.
