Just got an initial offer from Rippling in CA. Base: 195k RSU: 500k/4 years Current TC: around 300 Yoe: 4 It’s currently valued at 6.5B but from my research it has less than 1% market share and this is nowhere a new industry. It does have some good investor believe in them though. What does blink think about rippling? Is it over valued? If not, what’s the magic supporting this valuation? Also, the teams I met don’t seem like the top top talent in the industry. The interview bar is not high either, is this a concern? Thank you in advance!
I've never worked for Rippling but I've used it on the consumer side and I can't stand it. It's overpriced, riddled with many annoying issues, and the support is very meh. I do see more and more companies under Enterprise level switching to Rippling and they roll out new features often. I don't expect Rippling to ever reach the levels of the larger competitors, such as Workday, because it's so clunk and isn't nearly as dynamic in comparison. I think it would be okay for someone looking to get their foot in the door, fwiw. I know this isn't likely what you were looking for, but I hope it helps in some way.
I agree with the product quality issues. We hope to balance development of new features and product quality better.
Thanks for the comment! This is very helpful and interesting to learn that more companies started to use rippling. I heard from their engineers that some of them are revamping some existing features to improve quality. In terms of comparisons to workday, I think rippling is aiming for smb more than enterprise so i don’t expect it getting into upfront fight with workday anytime soon. I don’t know if the market of Smb is big enough for rippling to 3x though
How’s the current MRR and projected MRR? How’s their gross churn doing? How’s churn relative to new logos? What’s in the sales pipeline? How’s their payback periods (net of CACs)? What’s their customer base like? Where do they succeed? What’s their sales win rate? Who do they lose to and why?
Wow, those are some good questions to ask and I don’t even understand some of the terms
Terrible recruiting experience while it is HR centric company ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not sure about valuation metrics, but if you tell me what level your offer is, I might be able to tell you whether there is room to negotiate
Recruiter said it’s flat leveling so I don’t know but it feels like sde2 - senior
No we have solid levels. If sde2 which is L6, this feels like cap. if senior - L7 this is nowhere near the cap
I would take Rippling. Gusto its competitor is 9.5b and it’s targeting small businesses. I see Rippling has potential to grow to 25b-50b.
Join! I’m joining soon, Rippling is dummy hype and their growth numbers are insane. If you’re looking for a high risk high reward option, IMO rippling is one of the best ones out there. I had multiple startup offers (4), as well as multiple safe offers, and went with rippling
OP: did you end up joining Rippling? If no which one you end up joining?
if u don’t want it, i’ll take it 🦍
