Hello, I am a graduating phd student at one of the top 4 CS schools, specializing in ML, with a decent publication record (800+ citations and several first author top conference papers). I went on recruiting for industry Research Scientist positions and got the following initial offers.
All compensation is annual TC over 3/4 years, depending on the stock vesting period.
Snap 360k
Facebook 330k
Google 280k
Apple 270k
Amazon 220k
The levels are L4 or equivalent. I wonder what's the final offer I should aim for? I know https://aipaygrad.es/ exists and indicates 400k+, but my offers seem considerably low compared to the webpage... Is it because they are initial offers? The pandemic is affecting me? AI hype is over?
Also any tips for negotiating with multiple offers would be appreciated! I feel like everyone will approximately match the highest (Snap) offer, ending the negotiation. Any way I can keep the competition going?
