Hi,

Need some help. I am looking to make transition to a sales career and have been told that BDR/SDR roles should be where I start. I have 1 year of SDR experience with a company prior to the one I at, but want to see if you knew of any companies that have great sales training or like a sales academy. I saw that Mongo DB has something, but interested to see if you have any companies (tech) that you can share.

Thank you in advance.

I started out as a BD/SDR and climbed the way to enterprise sales. I would just recommend that you get in with a good tech company, tech sales is where it’s at. So, mongodb would be a good example and sounds like they really focus on development and growth. Or, a pre-ipo company late stage as well, where maybe you can climb into commercial sales sooner. Make sure to ask the hiring manager, the average time it takes for people to get promoted into a sales role; be clear about your objective.
