You asked two questions and have a yes or no poll. How the fuck am I supposed to vote for “it more than doubles your pay, take the job”?

What kind of company is Amazon for devs if they're not even enthusiastic about their new job and know already they might get fired after a year ? I don't understand it

Mostly amazon is the only place where you can pass with less harder LC (since half is LP) while get nice TC as external.

      For ex,

I NEVER saw someone accepted amazon with their competing offer from F or G. This place is composed of people who cant get into other prestigious companies(meta google netflix lyft uber stripe snap etc)

At my org most pip scapegoat is L4 especially external hire L4. Some amazon people will blame this or call it out as fake but it is what it is.

Its not because they were bad nor incompetent. Its just they didnt have enough time to learn politics, surrounded by toxic sdm and selfish mentors(mostly they are).

I would not join if you believe you can try else where in a year or even two.

Join, try your best, try to move asap if your team isn’t a good fit/you feel like you’re always treading water.

Then leave after 2 years (or before) when you’re confident in the skills you’ve gained and are ready to go to a software company that is enjoyable to be at.

(I felt exactly the same as you… I wish I moved teams immediately because I felt like, from starting, I was always behind.)

This is a good advice. If you join(i still dont recommend) then be ready to move asap if you see any bad pointers from SDM and Skip.

But be aware that amazon hr supports internal transfer but reality is that your sdm highly likely try to persuade you to stay with bullshit reasoning. Dont be scammed
