Zeta

How is the learning , wlb and job security at zeta? Is it worth switching to zeta from Walmart?

Microsoft TlWn11 Jul 9, 2021

Not really worth. Job security is not there. They have history of office closures in the past.

Directi wanderer12 Jul 9, 2021

Zeta is hiring some best in class talent in Engineering. Been a part of the group since years & have never heard about any office closures.

Microsoft TlWn11 Jul 9, 2021

If you haven't heard anything, that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Do you hear everything that happens in this world? To enlighten you, there was a office closure 3 years back and even one year after that highly paid people were forced to leave to cut costs. I myself was part of latter one.

Directi wanderer12 Jul 9, 2021

NO, I don’t hear everything that happens in the world. But I have been a part of this company since 5 years, hence eligible to share my advice & experiences without answering UNNECESSARY QUESTIONS on my comment.

Apache Software Foundation vjGS51 Jul 11, 2021

Definitely, Zeta is better any day. With 250M$ they can easily pay for next 10 years. Enterprise s/w companies don’t burn money in discounts or operations

Walmart NTUz78 Jul 12, 2021

Spoke with one of their leader about layoff. It happens during demonetisation. At that point of rule zeta was going aggressively in payment space. Paytm and PhonePe were backed by SoftBank and Walmart. After spending couple of miliilons they realised that the business model will require lot of funding and they won’t be able to sustain. So they pivoted and closed down field offices. Remember zeta was self funded by Bhavin at that point of time. That’s the only time they did layofff ever(in their 20+ years in directi)

Did they try to rehire the laid off employees?

Uber jtdvhrv Sep 1, 2021

No they didn't rehire...and no it was not about demonetisation ...they just didn't want delhi office and closed it down.... Similar stuff with sister company... That leader must be new or lying...they are known to do that

Looks like the Microsoft guy was fired from zeta due to performance and hence the vengeance.

Microsoft TlWn11 Sep 3, 2021

Yes you will call it vengeance unless you face it. Let me tell you it was not because of performance. It was due to cost cutting. I was in middle of so many family things, marriage etc and suddenly this came up and definitely I was not expecting it since I was performing fine as per my manager and peers. But just because they were doing cost cutting, they fired not only me but some more people too in tech. Such a bad time I had. You will not understand this until you go through this.

Apache Software Foundation vjGS51 Sep 3, 2021

Let it go man!! hiring and firing are part and parcel of startups. Nobody enjoys doing it. You seem to be at better place now. The grudge will not take you anywhere, trust me. You are talented and any top company will love to hire you.

Amazon aws001 Sep 11, 2021

You are spot on vjGS51. TIWn11 was fired from Microsoft as well!

Microsoft LoveSaty Sep 11, 2021

Lol. Microsoft is not like Amazon. They fire very rarely.

Uber ichigo- Sep 25, 2021

Ignore the comment if you didn’t like the answer. Aws001. People share their journey and it’s on us to believe it or not. And every start up fire and hire. Uber had fired 25% of workforce in 2020. Amazon fires using PIP. So getting fired from zeta should not be a big deal.

Morgan Stanley TltM76 Nov 29, 2021

Hi, I received very good feedback in the coding and technical round but mixed feedback in LLD round. HR confirmed she will check and update. Any probability that I will get through this?

Walmart NTUz78 Nov 29, 2021

It should go through, depends on how hm round goes

Flipkart GjDQ55 Jan 11, 2022

So how is the WLB in zeta? OP did you join Zeta? Please share your experience.

Morgan Stanley TltM76 Jan 11, 2022

Yet to be joined, mid feb around. I heard good wlb but also depend on teams, I will join retail banking team.

Flipkart GjDQ55 Jan 11, 2022

Can I DM you?

Morgan Stanley TltM76 Jan 11, 2022

Sure

Walmart pm6a Apr 25, 2022

a clear NO. Zeta’s work is complete chaos. No WLB. at the same time tech stack is old.

Amazon ffdddd Jul 18, 2022

Can you please elaborate. What is the tech stack. What are the problems

Zeta dTIM36 Jul 25, 2022

i totally agree, here it is like, they keep building instead of ensuring the stability of current products that definitely leads to incidents… poor infra it is so hard to reach the infra people. i would definitely not recommend someone to join zeta if you have other good options
