Any other people who live in SF care to share how their shuttle experiences are to companies in the south? It sounds like for some companies and maybe depending on the team it's not bad.

    WFH one day a week.

The first year was terrible. After that, I got used to the routine, the motion, and I can work without any issues on the shuttle.

About 45-55 minutes to work in the late mornings. About 5 minutes longer back to SF at night. Get back to the city at 8:30 or 9pm, just in time to see friends or hit up a bar.

    In the rain, add 40-100%.

I did it for 4 year from SF to Apple (Cupertino). Commute could be up to 90 minutes one way. Glad I no longer have that commute.

I used to have a lone commute to google mtv. It took me 60min on the shuttle. And a few co workers have longer commutes.
We all work on the shuttle. There's wifi on it. And everyone thinks it's normal for long commuters to come in late, leave early, and WFH one day per week.

  • It's tough but Wifi is good so you can work, definitely build in WFH days to keep your sanity

I personally don't mind the shuttle and barely notice the commute. And I used to walk to work in my former city, so I thought I'd hate it. It's comfortable, there's wifi, you can usually leave work at 5ish and it's fine bc people understand the commute is long. Mornings are earlier and that is still a bit tough.
