#insurance #health #medical #dental
I'm starting at Google soon and haven't been able to see what the dental insurance coverage is like yet (new grad). Can anyone here write about their experiences with it?
Also, I need double jaw surgery and braces. I know that the insurance will cover a percentage of the cost of braces up to 2300 dollars, but does the health insurance cover double jaw surgery?
Thank you all so much!!

You’ll have to check with HR or look into the policy itself to see if maxilofacial surgery is covered or not. It’s usually listed under the terms of major medical insurance and not under dental insurance.
Source: my wife had to have maxilofacial surgery on her lower jaw to correct her bite. We had to go through this same process to find out that it wasn’t covered by medical or dental insurance so we ended up having to pay the $15,000 ourselves.
