Noam Chomsky's Take on Hamas
Hey all, thanks for reading. I am a SWE with 5 YOE. I have several offers from companies I'll call apple, orange, and pear. The rationale is that they're all very different! I've been with the same company since college and looking to earn more, feel impactful, and not burn myself out in the process. The apple: (Cyngn) 50 person startup in the autonomous vehicle space. Pre revenue, but already public. Sounds like a red flag, but they assured me it was for funding. Very competitive base, lower on equity The orange: (PayPal) A large 15,000 person payment processing company. Lower on the salary, but heavy on equity. Could be cushy, likely would learn less. Good job stability though. TC is the same as the above. The pear: (Descartes Labs) An AI Analytics company with 130 people. Seems like a good level of maturity for a startup. Competitive comp, but may be slightly lower. Biggest advantage is a four day work week. 8hrs/4dy/week. I've been assured by many it's a great WLB! So what are things you would consider? These are for Senior DevOps engineer and Senior SRE positions. Thank you for the help! [Edit] added company names
For risk/reward I’ll pick the startup that’s already public. That equity has highest potential to grow 10x and you won’t be stuck till they reach IPO.
TC or GTFO
Why not name the companies? Apple orange pear lmao
Done. I felt it'd only be psuedo anonymous. But ehh Idc enough haha
Rules are rules : TC or GTFO !!
Good job security in PayPal??? Who told you so? I see every year many people get fired without any reason.
@OP where did you end up with?
Need a 🍌 to compare with
Ayo
Are you saying the decision would be easier if I had a similar company to compare against? Because right now my trouble is trying to compare apples to oranges.
