What is an efficient way to get interviews ? Is online application effective or should i ping recruiters. I noticed that recruiters do not respond. Is it common that senior or mid level swe to ping recruiters or is it more often the college grads. I feel bit awkward to ping my friends for referral at times and I have very few friends who will even refer me. So I was thinking upon choosing between online application vs recruiter messaging. If there is a better way, let me know..
[Edit]
I see some managers setting status (I am hiring) on linkedin. At times they are in my direct network or 1 or 2 hops. Is it better to reach out hiring managers directly?

If your resume is good, it's called being proactive, eager.
If it's bad, you are harassing, spamming.
