I'm a software engineer at Facebook, and I love my work here. I've been doing great with consistent EE/GE ratings since I joined as a new grad ~3 years ago.
I'm considering trying out Google for a change - who knows, I might like it even more. Or I might not. If I don't, I could always boomerang back to Facebook (without having to re-interview if it's within a year of leaving Facebook).
But my question is, if I stay at Google only for a year or less, will it hurt my chances of being able to go back to Google in the future? Because that is important to me; at some point when I decide to have a kid, I'll most likely want to quit Facebook and go to Google for better work-life balance.
Has anybody here quit their job at Google in only a year or less but later came back to G again?
