Please evaluate below offer from Dropbox IC3. Location: Seattle YOE: 8 yrs Current TC: 215k with stock appreciation Amzn Dropbox Offer: 220 / 550 / 80 TC: Year 1: 470k (with 80k joining) Year 2: 420k (with 120k/4 refresher) Year 3: 450k (with 120k/4 x 2 refresher) Year 4: 480k (with 120k/4 x 3 refresher) Includes base + 15% bonus + stocks grant+ 120k refresher every year + joining cash bonus (first year only) Assuming no increase in base, no promotion and no change in stocks price. (For simplicity) Multiple competing Senior Engineer offers from Msft, Tableau, Apple and other start ups. Got FB E4 down level offer but nothing now coz of freeze for e4. But nothing comes close to this offer. Had Google on-sites and it went well but even if I get Google I am thinking of joining DBX with great TC and WLB. Also I don’t think google will give this TC at L5.

Crappy refreshers due to my team not delivering on some projects. Also I don’t have any joining stocks left, 5th yr in Amzn.
Refreshers aren’t guaranteed, and you shouldn’t be writing TC with refreshers priced in. 220/550/80 is an incredibly good IC3 offer and is near top of band if not top.
I totally understand that refreshers are not guaranteed but I’m sure I’ll be able to perform well enough to meet expectations. But you have a good point, what if I don’t get any refreshers at all. First of all I will be leaving the company at the end of 4th year, and the updated TC without any refreshers will be (470k/390k/390k/390k) for first 4 years
Everyone says they’ll perform well enough - but this is also a public company. What happens if the refresh program shifts on you? Calculate TC based on what’s in front of you today. And don’t worry it’s still a fantastic offer. I hear Dropbox is a good place to work, too.

thank you. I tried getting more on stocks part but they clearly and politely said that this is literally their max and they cannot do anything beyond this. Plus they are giving 7k per year in lieu of perks which i won’t be able to enjoy coz of full remote.(which i’m super happy abt)

No, we're not going to tip you off. However, if you've put that much effort into practicing concurrency, then you're likely more than prepared for any questions you'd receive.
