Looking to hear from both GoPuff and Uber employees. Let’s assume that the offers are the exact same and it’s for a Software Engineering Position.

For anyone asking what GoPuff is, its a local delivery company that has many distributed warehouses that offer fast delivery of products you’d find at a convenience store. It’s is currently a private company that is planning to IPO in the next year or two.

GoPuff is just Uber with less market share and far more risk. The entire last mile space is so saturated with competition unless you can identify a differentiator that actually justifies why they would come to dominate it’s a fools errand at this point to enter the market

  Yes agreed. Will be interesting to see if they are able to use data analytics to drive the margins on pricing. Assortment will be the driver of growth for a company like that.

  Yea I would say if Uber/DD etc are smart they ultimately have the same information and can start down that path as well. Amazon Basics paved the way for the model; if the rest get on board they could start looking at mobile distributors that carry inventory of common items. Not sure delivery speed warrants the extra costs but if a courier already has the most common items onboard and gets to forgo stopping at a distribution center altogether we could start to see 5-10 minute delivery times become the norm

There are a ton of people from Uber at gopuff. Granted they mostly made the decision to move when the market was better.

Have worked at both. Gopuff is still small enough to make a decent impact. I'd imagine Uber is primarily incremental maintenance of the ship.
