I’ve always loved traditional supercars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, etc. but I’m at a loss for making sense of the new 2020 Corvette. I’ve always hated Corvettes (poor mans Ferrari), but...

The highend 2020 Corvette is midengine, just as fast, NOW looks great, and is a fraction of the price compared to the traditional supercar lineup.

WTF? Thoughts please... Help me understand this new reality as it’s rocking my sense of our world as a whole.

      The whole package. The interior. The looks. The elegance. The quality. Performance is just one angle... if you want the fastest car for the cheapest you get a Dodge Challenger.

      This to say we have no idea how this car will handle, but nimble super cars handle a certain way

      The whole point of the ‘Vette going mid engine is so it handles as well as a supercar with a 50-50 weight distribution. A Dodge Challanger is a beast in a straight line but the C8 will handle just like a mid-engine supercar. I will say the interior in an expensive supercar is ultra bespoke and they definitely look gorgeous. The C8 is super well engineered though, the old Corvette was more like how you described. I definitely see your point though. I’d definitely take the Ferrari or Porsche but this is a very good substitute.

  • About a decade back, General Motors launched a new model in India (a right hand drive version of an American sedan). The first few thousand units had the hood release (or trunk release, I forget which) still on the left side.

    I am unable to fathom how that company can create a vehicle you'd compare with a Porsche or a Ferrari. All recent GM interiors just feel "plastic". I bet the moment you enter the 2020 Corvette your joy will magically transform into disappointment.

      Let me know how you like it. I’ve seen some YouTube videos and the feedback is super positive from people who drive these exotics so I think Chevy may have pulled a hat trick :)

    Why does nobody mention automatic only transmission? The lack of manual will make this a dealbreaker for many.
