My tc is higher than my manager’s

He joined the company 4 years ago and I joined two months ago.
I just found that my tc is 30k higher. He works in central state and I am in LA

I am just worried about pip. Because he may feel unfair and expect too much impact from me #engineering #software #swe

  • There is no rule that a manager should make more than their team members, some valued ICs make more than their manager. Also, you can’t do an apples to apples comparison if your manager is based in a different state while you are in California

    In my previous company, this was the case for me. My manager was a real ass and he made my life hell taking every opportunity to reduce my comp and it bled into blocking me being appreciated by others and finally with me quitting because of one bad apple.

      TC wise, most of Amazon corporate employees used to make higher TC than Jeff. Jeff was the founder, his yearly TC from Amazon as an employee was in lower 80k something.
