VP of sales in a Tech Startup was not listening during phone interview and seemed distracted and asked stupid questions which were clearly on the resume and receuiter notes. At the one on one 4th interview, he could not recall any of the phone conversation. Then he yawned during our 45 minutes one on one session and didnt even apologyze. It was 11:00 AM.🙄 At the end of the 4 hours 5th interview, he came in again and looked exhausted, sleepy, amd deflated same as before. How does someonw like that lead a salea team of 60??
Seems like the result of leading a sales team of 60.
His wife might be very demanding at nights
Best case scenario
You never know. If your kid has diabetes you might be up and down a lot at night. Or maybe he had some late night meetings with his sales team. I mean, if it bothers you then ask him. “Everything ok?” Or “should we reschedule for a better day?” Not sure you’re gonna get a good answer here.
This. Please humanize the situation.
Entitled much? How dare someone yawn! Was the call as boring as your post?
It’s called respect! Don’t reply if you find it boring.
Thanks for making my point for me
Might be a test to see how you react when a client does that? How did you react? 🙂
I asked if everything was ok?? He was like late nights. But it always makes me think, if I did that would the person be as forgiving? It sounds like a double standard of it’s ok for him to do so but God forbid if I would yawn.
I actually find it concerning it’s late nights. Assuming family life is ok, is it work leading him to late nights? Is that the job culture you can expect?
Maybe he is new daddy, maybe he was sick, maybe his going through though time, divorce?... we are human with highs and lows. Always give the benefit of th doubt to people.
No kids just a puppy.
So you know everything about him?
I saw Jeff Bezos at a grocery store in San Francisco yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
I’ll take “things that never happened” for $100
Nice troll story bruh.
They obviously need people if they're hiring. He's probably in and out of meetings all day interviewing, planning, and more. You got to coast in the meetings with him so that's a plus. I'd rather give my 5 minute spiel going over all the "great" and "cool" things I've done over my years, than play stump the interviewee.
Are you expecting an offer?
Crashing from all the stims.
