Combined tc - 970k
Mortgage (including prop taxes 7k), 2 kids (under 5 years) and an average lifestyle i.e no fancy cars, once or twice a week eating out.
our expenses come around 15-17k. Trying to understand what other households spend. pls share.
I feel anxious looking at our expenses but often brush it aside thinking we are spending on only what is needed ..no luxury other than the 1.5ish mn house. Tough!

I have a 2 years old, we cook everyday, we schedule around to avoid nanny time, we live in a $2500 apartment. Our monthly expense is around $4000. My TC is 450k.
Also remove mortgage from expenses, you are paying off to own an asset. If you stop eating out often and if you and your spouse work from home on alternate days, you will drop your expenses down to $2K.
We have HSA for medical, we don’t enjoy buying clothes often so we just buy when needed. Yes flights are expensive but they fit in $1500 as we travel once or twice a year. Our biggest bill is from GCP/AWS which I’m going to write off as business expense.
