Work hard, make high TC, lose it to mental health tax, clean car tax and now wildfire tax in CA. Affects 2M+ household TC for now but we'll all get there soon with inflation.

"The money would come from a 1.75% tax on the portion of personal income of an individual or married couple above $2 million. Organizers of the measure estimate that less than a quarter percent of taxpayers would face the new levy. Prior voter propositions in California have succeeded in using higher taxes on the rich to help fund mental health services and education."

Oh no, how could they be so cruel as to tax people making over $2M annually by 1.75%? No one could possibly live under such poor conditions, such poverty.

You’re really going act as if there is no functional purpose of taxes? Go ahead and try living a single day using nothing that taxes have or are supporting or subsidizing for you. Don’t even step on a sidewalk paid for by taxes or access any form of energy subsidized or supported by the government in any way. Society comes at a cost and that’s what taxes are. I know the way they are used is not always the best, but economies of scale help it where it is used well. But you can go pay no taxes if you’d like by living alone somewhere with no infrastructure or society.

@SAP: then why are the no income tax states so much better and functional than CA? My quality of higher was higher in Each of TX WA and FL compared to CA. I am out and so are thousands more, enjoy your 13% and higher state taxes that fund poop on the sidewalks and education quality cuts (no more SAT at UCs, no more advanced math in high school).

CA had a massive budget surplus last year...why do we need more new taxes?
