Recuriter(Talent acquistation) finds me on linkedin , ask if i am interested and sets up a call to understand location , level and visa. Made it clear i would reaquire visa for either SFO or Tornoto.
Fast forward a week , sets up a pair coding/phone screen. Aced it and got confirmation saying i cleared it and a recruiting coodinator and he sets up a call explaining the onsites. I asked him to keep it earlier considering H1B deadlines are around March 25th. After few hours i got a reply

"Thanks for your interest in instacart. Instacart is not currently sponsoring H-1B for individuals who do not currently have other forms of US work authorization."

You had my resume and verbal conversation before phonescreen , and now what happeened.

Google would never do such bullshit and really care about candidate experience and the feedback are taken seriouly by their team.

Save yourself 5 years of time and get a US degree to get a US job. Any university is fine. You week graduate in a year You can clear interviews

No other company will sponsor your H-1B unless you already have OPT or H-1B. The L-1B path is dumb. You'll be underpaid relative to your colleagues in US and you won't be able to switch jobs.

That's how startups are. Processes are not all defined properly causing these kinds of mistakes. Google is a 150k employee company that's been around for 20 years, and had perfected these processes.
