Happy New Year Blind!

Jan 1 7 Comments

It seem like the wiser I am getting, the lonelier it's making me. I spent new year at home as my friends got covid (with whom I was supposed to celebrate) and I didn't have plans to travel. This is the first new year eve when I was alone and contrary to my expectations I was happy about it as I didn't waste my time on people whom I don't even like or i didn't have to pretend to be happy when I am not in front of others but I do feel a bit lonely. Does it happens with others too or I am the odd one here?

  • i believe that is a sign of maturity. until recently i too needed to be around people during holidays and loved being in people’s Instargam and snap stories (whether i was actually close to them or not). now i realize none of that matters (unless your happiness is derived from making others think your life is fun)

It did make me feel happy to spend time alone on NYE. But improving my quality of friends is one of my top resolutions for the next year...so maybe if I actually had an opportunity to spend it with someone genuine I would be happier...but who knows..

  • Totally normal. NYE is just an excuse to party tbh. If you want to, great, but its not like anything is going to change because the year on the calendar advanced
